Disciple-Making according to Matthew 28:18-20

The Great Commission
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. NKJV
To make disciples of others, we must first be disciples of Christ ourselves.
Who is a disciple of Christ?
He/She is one who loves God and one another (John 13:34-35; Matthew 22:37-40)

The disciple is aware that Jesus Christ

-has been given all authority in Heaven and on earth.
-is with him/her always as he/she goes and makes disciples of all the nations...

It is important to note that making disciples aims at

-Not just one or two nations but all nations
-Baptizing new believers in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
-Teaching new believers to observe/obey all things that Jesus Christ has commanded us, His disciples

What has Our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us?

Our Lord has commanded us to

-Love God and love one another (Matthew 22:37-40; John 13:34-35)
-Make disciples of all nations...(Matthew 28:18-20)

So, we see that it is a cycle that repeats itself until the return of Our Lord and Savior (Revelation 22:20)

What are the essentials in Discipleship?

-Quiet Time (Bible Reading, Meditation, Prayer and Worship)
-Bible Study
-Obedience to God's Word
-Fellowship
-Service and Witnessing
