Overview of the Gospel of John

Apostle John presents seven miracle-signs to prove the divine nature of Jesus.

1. The turning of water into wine - John 2:7-9
Revealed Jesus as the Provider and Change Agent

2. The healing of the nobleman's son - John 4:49-53
Revealed Jesus as the Divine Healer and Creator

3. The healing of the impotent man at Bethesda - John 5:6-9
Revealed Jesus as Lord of the Sabbath

4. Feeding the 5,000- John 6:5-14
Revealed Jesus as the Bread of Life

5. Walking on the water- John 6:16-21
Revealed Jesus as the True Guide

6. The giving of sight to a man born blind - John 9:1,6,7
Revealed Jesus as the Light of the world

7. The raising of Lazarus from the dead - John 11:43,44
Revealed Jesus as the Resurrection and the Life

Out of the four Gospels, only John records the following six miracles:

1. The turning of water into wine - John 2:7-9
2. The healing of the nobleman's son - John 4:49-53
3. The healing of the impotent man at Bethesda - John 5:6-9
4. The giving of sight to a man born blind - John 9:1,6,7
5. The raising of Lazarus from the dead - John 11:43,44
6. The draft of fishes - John 21;5,6

John also gives the seven "I am's" of Jesus to prove that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

The seven "I am's" of Jesus:

1. " I am the Bread of Life" (John 6:35)
2. "I am the Light of the world" (John 8:12)
3. "I am the Door" (John 10:9)
4. "I am the Good Shepherd" (John 10:14)
5. "I am the Resurrection and the Life" (John 11:25)
6. "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" (John 14:6)
7. "I am the True Vine" (John 15:1)
