The very
long-awaited promise of a son to Abraham and Sarah was finally manifested after
twenty five years through the actual miraculous birth of Isaac. Abraham was one
hundred years old and Sarah ninety. What a miracle of Almighty God! (V 1-7)
What a mighty God we serve!
Unfortunately, Ishmael
and Hagar could not get along with Sarah. So, Abraham was forced to send them
away (V 8-14). But, God, the Compassionate One took pity on them. He rescued
and lifted them up even promising to make a great nation out of Ishmael (the
Arabs). (V 15-21)
Others noticed that
God was with Abraham and Sarah, following God’s manifestation and blessing in
their lives through the miraculous birth of Isaac, among others. So, Abraham and
his family were respected by their Philistine neighbors. They could live in peace
and prosperity there for long. (V 22-34)
Let’s walk faithfully
with God like Abraham did and we can enjoy His presence, protection, provision,
and prosperity. What a blessing that will be!
